Ready to Learn

Working with elementary students is a special experience. During my service at Diggs-Latham Elementary School, I've found that the students are quite responsive and being there is very rewarding. Educating elementary students is unique because they have little experience but a great ability to learn. The students are amazed at everything and are ready and able to engage and learn during each class. I am also learning better teaching practices for this younger age group.

I'm also serving at Paisley Middle School and have also deepened my understanding of educating older students. Connecting with them and educating them with an approach more appropriate to their age is important so they don’t get bored. I believe through my time serving at these sites I will gain a stronger understanding of differentiated learning across younger ages.
