Giving & Receiving Feedback
Giving & Receiving Feedback
As an employee, your job is to do great work. To continue to improve, you need to know how to both receive and give feedback to create a campus that has a culture of assessment.
Characteristics of great feedback
Here are some tips when providing feedback:
- Feedback should be based on facts.
- Be specific, not general. Use real and detail examples in your feedback.
- Feedback is descriptive, not evaluative. Make a person aware of an issue. Don't condemn them.
- Ensure your tone is supportive and informal.
- Focus of future opportunities where the person can use the feedback information.
- Carefully plan to ensure you provide balance of positive and negative feedback.
