Ming-Lung Yang

A member of the School of Dance faculty since 2013, Ming-Lung Yang appreciates that learning is a personal journey. He believes that we each have strengths and weaknesses, and no two people process information in the same way and is interested in helping students to learn from the act of doing, not from observation alone.

As a teacher of composition, Yang shares his appetite for experimentation with his students. Yang's goal is to create a nurturing environment where students feel safe to challenge themselves and take risks. He encourages them to push the boundaries of their imagination in search of their individual voices with an entrepreneurial mindset. Yang applauds his students' successes and helps them see what can be learned from their mistakes.
