Kristin Dean

Kristin Dean has recently become a new empty nester with her youngest daughter currently a first-year in the Drama department at UNCSA.

Kristin is a native of Phoenix, AZ, and a graduate of the University of Arizona, earning a BS in Family and Consumer Resources. Professionally, she spent ten years as a Child Life Specialist at Phoenix Children’s and Vanderbilt University Children’s Hospitals. While living in Phoenix she was involved in several community and children-based non-profits. Her passion for supporting our youth continued after moving to Winston Salem, NC in 2010 with her husband Harrison and three daughters Kennedy (25), Payton (25), and Campbell (18). Kristin and Harrison are founders of Open Up Winston Salem, a mental health awareness effort, bringing a message of openness, education, understanding and community support of our youth on the topic of mental health; they have partnered with The Michael Phelps Foundation. Kristin spends her free time enjoying her family, supporting her children as they move through young adult life.

Kristin is excited to bring her support and passion to UNCSA in her role.
