Checklist for College Graduating Students

What to do when to get ready for your big day of graduating from UNCSA!


Oct. 16-Nov. 12 Apply to graduate. Contact the Registrar Office, if you weren't notified electronically.

January - February

Check Required Courses and Financial Obligations.  To see if you are on track to meeting your graduation requirements, check Degree Works in your E-Z Arts student portal or contact the Registrar Office. Also, in E-Z Arts under Student Accounts, see if you have outstanding bills. Only those students who have completed the requirements for their degree or diploma, and have satisfied all financial obligations to UNCSA are eligible to participate in the commencement ceremony.

Order cap and gown (optional). Herff Jones website is now available for you to make your graduation cap & gown purchase.  Please act quickly so that you make the deadline to have the items shipped to you.


March 7 - Indicated if you have a preferred first name you would like called at the Commencement in place of your legal first name. Complete Graduation Preferred Name form. Completing the form does not make any changes to the student record.

March 14-April 1: Graduates need to complete ticket information for themselves and indicate the requested number of guests. Commencement ticket form for college/graduate ceremony. Tickets will be emailed.


Friday, May 6 - Attended online commencement rehearsal.

Saturday, May 7 - UNCSA College Commencement at 4 p.m. at the Benton Convention Center. Graduates arrive at 3 p.m.
