University Rehearsal & Commencement Day Information

The University Commencement for the class of 2022 is 4 p.m. Saturday, May 7, 2022, at the Benton Convention Center in Winston-Salem, Graduates will be allotted four guest tickets and the ceremony will be livestreamed for additional access.

UNCSA will continue adhering to all of our current COVID-19 Community Health Standards including during our commencement ceremonies. Information will be posted as it comes available. Planning will be informed by guidance from local, state and federal public health authorities, as well as applicable orders and regulations from the governor and relevant federal agencies. Rehearsal is Friday, May 6, 2022

The Zoom rehearsal is 1 p.m. May 6. All students planning to participate must attend this rehearsal. You will receive an email from the UNCSA Registrar with the Zoom link for the virtual commencement rehearsal. You must sign in at the link in the email. Contact Registrar Sharon Hush if an emergency arise and you are unable to attend. If you have questions, email registrar@uncsa.edu.

Commencement Day Check-In

  1. Graduating students should arrive at the Benton Convention Center promptly at 3 p.m. on May 7, 2022. The ceremony starts at 4 p.m.
  2. Enter through the front doors of the Benton Convention Center or via the skybridges.
  3. As you arrive, stage managers will be at a check-in table to sign you in and you'll receive any additional instructions.

Commencement Day is Saturday, May 7, 2022

A livestream link of the ceremony will be on uncsa.edu homepage on the day of graduation. The ceremony will be from 4-6 p.m.

Tickets

Graduating students requested tickets for their guests. Those tickets were emailed to the graduating students' UNCSA artist email address in April. Please ensure each guest has either an electronic copy of their ticket or a printed copy.

Guest Seating

Seating for your guests will be general admission. Guests of graduates should plan to arrive together to be seated together. Do not leave empty seats between seating parties as this will delay in seating all of the ticketed guests.

Parking

The Benton Convention Center is connected to the Marriott Winston-Salem and parking deks via climate controlled walkways. The Benton Convention Center Parking (PDF) is available for printing or to download. There is ample parking available in the City of Winston-Salem’s 6th/Cherry-Trade Parking Deck (for a small fee). There are also hundreds of on-street parking spaces downtown that are free on weekends. Carpooling is encouraged. 

COVID-19 Protocols

Follow the UNCSA Community Health Standards. If you experience symptoms, stay home and watch the livestream.

As both indoor and outdoor masking has been declared optional by UNCSA, the city of Winston-Salem, and the state, at this time masks will not be required at commencement. However, this could change if the COVID-19 situation changes.
