Take Anna Camp's advice On turning 30
Refinery29, May 15, 2015
Some Hollywood women make it all look so easy. They're the kind of people who are so effortlessly put together they make you think that "I woke up like this" could actually be a real thing. You can file Pitch Perfect 2's Anna Camp in that category. But, don't get it twisted. Camp didn't just have her life handed to her on a silver platter. She put in a lot of work — an intensive acting program at the University of North Carolina School of the Arts, countless guest starring roles — to become the versatile powerhouse you've seen opposite Don Draper, hanging on the couch with Mindy Lahiri, and stiffly prancing through an a cappella version of "The Sign"...

3 NC groups team up for ‘Midsummer Night’s Dream’
The News & Observer, May 2, 2015
The N.C. Symphony had a novel idea to cap its 2009-10 season: It would perform works by Wolfgang Mozart to accompany a compact version of the play “Amadeus,” performed by actors from PlayMakers Repertory Company. After a series of challenges delayed that second joint presentation, a concert abridgment of Shakespeare’s “A Midsummer Night’s Dream” will play three performances in the Triangle this week... By James Moeser, Chancellor Emeritus, UNC Chapel Hill
[...] My point here is not to re-litigate the closing of the Poverty Center at UNC Chapel Hill, the Center for Biodiversity at East Carolina University, or the Institute for Civic Engagement and Social Change at N.C. Central University; or the abrupt dismissal without explanation of President Tom Ross. Rather, it is to focus on the collateral damage to the university from these actions and from statements from people in high places that suggest a lack of support for academic freedom, a lack of understanding of the real purpose of a public university. I saw this last year in Winston-Salem, where in my role as the interim chancellor of the UNC School of the Arts, I interviewed the finalists for the chancellor’s position. To a person, each candidate asked me something like this: “I’ve been reading a lot about what is going on politically in this state regarding the university system. Is this a good time for me to be thinking about moving to a position in North Carolina?” I did my best to convince them that they should come. I told them that this is a state full of wonderful, decent people with good values. I told them that the UNC system was held in universally high regard across the state...

The New York Times, March 3, 2015
The British playwrights Simon Stephens and Nick Payne are likely competitors in June for the Tony Award for best play, given the critical acclaim and popularity of their current Broadway shows, “The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time” (Mr. Stephens) and “Constellations” (Mr. Payne). And now, just as the theoretical-minded “Constellations” is winding down its run at Manhattan Theater Club this month, the club announced on Tuesday that it will produce another new play this spring that has echoes of quantum mechanics – this one by Mr. Stephens. “Heisenberg,” about the spark lit when a woman kisses a much older man at a London train station, will star the Tony winner (and UNCSA alumna) Mary-Louise Parker (“Proof,” Showtime’s “Weeds”)...
