Kara Sparks (she/her/hers) is an actor, singer, dancer, writer and producer from Pinebluff, North Carolina. Growing up in the woods of a small town, Kara has always had her head in the clouds. When she was five years old, she proudly announced to her parents that she wanted to be an artist when she grew up, and very little has changed about her dream since.
Kara has a passion for experimental art. She believes in the alchemy of theatre: the magic when something feels beyond this world we know; when everyone in the room sees that pull of connection they have to everyone else.
Kara is passionate about the power of community, and works to uplift the voices of young artists. During her time at UNCSA, Kara has created and produced the Infinite Pickle, a neo-futurist performance that unites the drama class of 2027 in their own original plays, poetry, dance, and skits. She loves everything from new work all the way to reimagined classics, and was incredibly grateful to originate the role of Marianne in Cliff Odle’s Tartuffe Nation last year, directed by Robby Lutfy. One of her greatest life goals is taking as many roles from men as possible. This fall she will play Macbeth in Macbeth directed by Acadia Barrengos.
