Staff Enrichment sessions scheduled for September
Staff Enrichment will be held Sept. 15 & 16 from 10 a.m. to noon and 2 p.m. to 4 p.m., with a few exceptions. Programs will last
one hour and be virtual unless otherwise noted.
Please remember that Staff Enrichment is for eight hours of time per month, so you may not be able to attend everything. Be sure to work with your supervisor to ensure sessions work with work schedules.
Staff can choose self- or team-directed professional development in place of our monthly offerings, just be sure to work with your supervisor on details. Recordings of most prior workshops are available for use in self-directed enrichment time and can be accessed through the Staff Enrichment website.
If you are unable to attend this month’s sessions, save the date and mark your calendars to ensure that you can attend future sessions! The upcoming staff enrichment schedule is as follows:
- Tuesday, Oct. 20 from 10 a.m. to noon and 2-4 p.m. and Wednesday, Oct. 21 from 10 a.m. to noon and 2-4 p.m.
- Tuesday, Nov. 17 from 10 a.m. to noon and 2-4 p.m. and Wednesday, Nov. 18 from 10 a.m. to noon and 2-4 p.m.

- Strategic Budgeting in a Fixed-Funding Environment

Wednesday, Sept. 16
- Lowering the Stakes of Conflict, For Everybody Involved

- Description: When I'm in conflict with someone, how can I powerfully protect who/what I hold dear while treating my conflict partners like human beings deserving of respect and care?" This workshop provides attendees with conceptual and practical resources to answer that question. It helps attendees discover how they can lower the stakes of whatever conflict they find themselves in, so they can get their needs met while treating others well.

- Description: UNCSA Homecoming: Family & Alumni Weekend 2026 is this Sept. 25-27! UNCSA alumni and families of current students will gather in Winston-Salem for this year's festivities! We encourage faculty and staff to also participate and take advantage of the free registration. With performances, conservatory meetups, campus tours, a family-friendly block party and parade, food, friends and fun, this is sure to be an unforgettable weekend. Join members of University Advancement to learn about the weekend and opportunities to participate and volunteer.
- Data Governance

- Description: Data Governance affects everyone on campus. UNCSA has a data governance committee, and it would like to hear from those not on the committee about their data governance concerns. We will present 2 cybersecurity/ data governance issues currently being evaluated by the committee. The first issue concerns directory information. This information includes both publicly available faculty, student, and staff information on directory pages, as well as student data that can be requested as part of a FERPA directory information request. The committee is asking for feedback on the directory information that is currently public facing. The second issue concerns the software on campus that touches UNCSA data. IT has a software approval process for ensuring that any software on campus that uses institutional data (i.e. MS Teams) is secure. This presentation will review the software approval process necessary to protect and secure UNCSA’s institutional data.
