HR Spotlight: Building trust, celebrating excellence and supporting our campus community
The Office of Human Resources has several updates to share as we head into the fall, including a new addition to
the HR team, upcoming Open Enrollment support and a week of activities celebrating
UNCSA employees.
Welcome Dr. Stephen Harris
As the Human Resources team continues to grow and evolve, we are excited to welcome our newest team member, Dr. Stephen Harris to UNCSA as the new HRIS Manager.
Dr. Harris brings a diverse background in higher education, human resources, information
systems, technology and organizational leadership. He holds a Doctor of Education
in organizational leadership, a Master of Arts in Teaching in business wducation,
and a Bachelor of Science in business management. His professional experience includes
supporting HR information systems, business operations, data and reporting, policy,
technology integration, and employee development.
Prior to joining UNCSA, Dr. Harris served as an HRIS Analyst at Winston-Salem State
University, where he supported HR systems, Banner processes, reporting, data management
and HR operations. He also brings experience from his time as an Apple Professional
Learning Specialist, where he worked with educators and leaders to leverage technology,
improve workflows and enhance professional learning experiences.
Dr. Harris is passionate about using technology and data to simplify processes, improve
the employee experience and help organizations operate more effectively. In his role
at UNCSA, he looks forward to partnering with Human Resources, campus departments,
faculty, staff, and university leadership to support reliable, efficient and innovative
HR systems and services.
A proud graduate of North Carolina A&T State University, Dr. Harris enjoys photography,
technology, movies and spending time with his family. He is excited to join the UNCSA
community and looks forward to getting to know colleagues across campus. Please join

Open Enrollment is coming
Open Enrollment will be held Oct. 12-30. Representatives fromBenefits Shared Serviceswill be available to assist employees
with questions and enrollment support in the UNCSA Library, Second Floor Computer
Room (2209) from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Oct. 20-22.
We encourage employees to take advantage of this opportunity to review their benefits
and ensure their elections meet their needs for the upcoming year.
Celebrating our employees
Employee Appreciation Celebration activities will take place Sept. 29 through Oct.
1, and we invite everyone to participate in the fun!
