I teach the Wolf Method to Pre-K students to help them connect the parts of their mouth to their speaking in an effort help literacy and vocabulary.
I want to focus on 2 of my students:
I have a student I still haven't been able to figure out. She doesn't want to sit still. This is hard because part of the activity I do with her requires concentration on cards. If she doesn't know a card she'll get more distracted. I came up with a way to help by letting her stand up and move around while we play the game with the cards. It has worked out so far. She seems to be able to focus longer and can still get her wiggles out. I'm so glad to see her progress.
Another one of the students I enjoy teaching is very enthusiastic about answering. When he gets a flash card he knows, he yells the answer. Usually this kid is more quiet and reserved than other students. To see him come out of his shell during our games is so cool. If you happen to pass by the classroom while we are playing our game, you're likely to hear, "eagle, bat, and pig!" Knowing I get to teach him stokes my enthusiasm and helps me wake up early for my 7:45 service!
