High School Profile

At UNCSA, high school students are admitted by audition to the Schools of Dance, Visual Arts within Design and Production, Drama and Music. The High School Academic Program provides a well-rounded liberal arts education, with full-time faculty who hold graduate degrees in either education or their discipline of instruction.

In addition, supporting programs and services in Student Life assist students in their personal development within a residential setting. The arts and academic curricula culminate in a high school diploma with an arts concentration in dance, drama, music or visual arts.

Statistics

The UNCSA graduating high school class averages 120 students annually. The average GPA for the Class of 2025 was 3.7 with more than 75% of students earning above a 3.5.

In 2025, 157 students took 312 exams with an average score of 3.8 overall. 90% of students scored a "3" or higher across all exams.

Tuition Waivers

The Tuition Grant Program provides free tuition for in-state students graduating from the High School Program. Those graduates who are accepted into and enroll in college full time at a constituent UNC System institution can attend college at UNCSA or any other UNC System institution tuition-free. 

69 graduates in the class of 2025 are currently attending UNC System schools.
