UNCSA Emerging Technology in the Arts Residency

Hosted by the University of North Carolina School of the Arts and the Thomas S. Kenan Institute for the Arts, the residency centers on AI and the work of acclaimed choreographer and Martha Graham Dance Company member Xin Ying, in collaboration with Mimi Yin and NUUM Collective. The event will bring together artists, technologists, legal scholars and industry leaders to examine the ethical, legal, technical and creative implications of AI for the arts.

Study with Paul Sharpe this Summer!

UNCSA bassist Paul Sharpe teaches at a number of festivals in the summer, all of which are excellent programs with different flavors! Some are remarkably affordable thanks to generous donors and grants. And for those seeking some adventure, the festivals in Alaska are a great place to do it – and cheaper (even including the plane fare)  than you would pay for doing similar festivals in the Lower 48.  Here are some links to help you explore these great opportunities to study with a great teacher, and have a real adventure as well.

Butler University Bass Camp – aka “Bad Boyz of Bass Camp” – 5 days in mid-June in Indianapolis.

Anchorage Chamber Music Festival and Chamber Music Intensive – the first or second week of August in Anchorage, AK.

Fairbanks Summer Arts Festival – last two weeks in July in Fairbanks, AK.
