Natalia Baez Ortiz is a Scenic Designer, originally from Puerto Rico. This year she designed "Elliot: A Soldier’s Fugue," where she explored her interest in abstraction and the use of organic installations in her work. She has assisted on multiple UNCSA productions, each experience contributing to her growth in design approach, craftsmanship, and interdepartmental communication.

Interested in film, Natalia has done production design and set dec for various student films. Her passions extend beyond design and into the shops. In 2024, she was the Properties Paint Apprentice for the Santa Fe Opera, where she sharpened her scenic painting skills.

With a love for community-building through the arts, she directed three summer camps with Little Theatre of Winston Salem. Looking forward, she hopes to keep contributing to projects that foster her love for collaboration and community within the arts.
