Ryan Blattau

Ryan is originally from Maryland. He started dancing at age seven and has had a passion for the arts ever since. He learned Ceccheti for most of his ballet training and enrolled in the Peabody’s dance program. Ryan also danced competitively throughout his life introducing him to many genres like musical theater and contemporary. He was part of Long Reach high school's senior dance company, and frequently choreographed for his high school's theater department.

Post high school, Ryan has been attending University of North Carolina School of the Arts in their contemporary program where he has worked with teachers including Brenda Daniels, Abby Yager, Kate Jewett and Emily Nicolau. He has also performed pieces by artists such as Kimberly Bartosik and Ming Lung-Yang. Outside of UNCSA, Ryan attended the Barna Arts program lead by Katie Vickers and Albert Quesada.

Ryan is interested in pursuing interdisciplinary art including music and film alongside dance and is looking into getting a masters degree. He is looking forward to another amazing year before he graduates!
