Student Resources (for students with disabilities)

Academic Resources

Staff in the office of Learning Resources assist all students including students with disabilities in the academic environment as they seek balance within an intense and exciting educational experience. Students may choose from a variety of Lunch & Learn Workshops offered each semester, meet one-on-one with a Learning Specialist, access a peer tutor, or our University Testing Services. The following array of resources have been designed to assist with academic success:

Assistive Technology

An array of assistive technology (AT) is available at three designated sites on campus for accommodation need and/or student use – the Teaching and Learning Center, the Library and the High School Academic Program.  Although AT is designed specifically for individuals with disabilities, AT can also benefit students with temporary impairments, students with certain learning deficits, or students with English as a second language.  For more information on the selection of AT available on campus, see the Assistive Technology web page.

The Smartpen is a computerized ball point pen which serves as a platform for writing and recording lecture notes in class. A limited number of Smartpens are available to students with disabilities via an equipment loan. Staff in the office of Learning Resources will orient students on how to best utilize a Smartpen.
