Do my parents/family need to attend Orientation?

Parents and families are encouraged to attend specific sessions for parents and families during New Student Orientation.

When do I register for classes?

The registration process varies depending on your art school. The School of Dance and The School of Drama pre-register undergraduate students for their art school classes. 

Students will receive a letter from their art school no later than the first week of June, advising them of the registration process.

A letter will be sent from the Division of Liberal Arts to new students in June, advising them of the registration process. The online registration window for Fall Liberal Arts classes will be in August. Advising sessions during orientation are for additional information, especially regarding AP and transfer credits.

When will I receive information about my on-campus housing assignment?

Residence Life sends out housing information via your @artist.uncsa.edu email in mid-July when new students can begin the process for campus housing. If you have questions, contact the Residence Life & Housing Staff.

When and where can I purchase textbooks for my classes?

Once you arrive on campus and receive your schedule, you will purchase your textbooks from the virtual campus bookstore or other textbook vendors.

Does UNCSA have scheduled breaks during the fall semester?

Information on important dates including academic breaks (i.e. fall break, Thanksgiving, winter break, and spring break) are listed on the Academic Calendar, which is maintained by the Registrar's Office.

Does UNCSA offer a shuttle service from any airports?

The Office of Student Transportation provides scheduled shuttles to Piedmont Triad International Airport in Greensboro, NC (airport code GSO) during academic breaks: fall, Thanksgiving, winter, and spring Break.

Student Transportation does NOT provide shuttles to Raleigh or Charlotte airports.

Note: Student Transportation is not available to provide airport shuttles at the beginning/end of the academic year (August and May).
