High School Orientation Checklist
We're looking forward to having you at UNCSA! Please follow the checklist below to complete your enrollment and prepare for the school year.

Set up your UNCSA email
When your Enrollment Deposit is received, you will be assigned a UNCSA Artist email account. You will receive an email with set-up instructions.
- Didn't receive an email? Contact the Admissions Data Team or your Admissions Counselor.
- Having issues accessing your email? Contact IT Technology Support at TechnologySupport@uncsa.edu or 336-770-3300.
Once your account is set up, regularly check it for important communications.
Co-sign academic forms
Review course information
Students are registered for courses by the Associate Dean of the High School Academic Program. Review the course information and take action if required.
Take online math placement test
All new students are required to take an online math placement test to ensure they are enrolled in the appropriate math course. An email will be sent to your UNCSA email account that includes a link and log in information for your specific math placement test. You must complete the test before Aug. 1 and in one sitting. Allow yourself 45 minutes to complete the test.

Complete High School Life application
Residential and commuter students attend orientation. Both residential and commuter high school students must complete forms that may include parent/guardian signatures. High School Life Application and forms include the housing form, but commuters must also complete non-housing related forms. Learn more about High School Life.
Commuter students participate in high school life during orientation and while attending UNCSA, with the exception that they are not required to attend residential hall meetings.
Complete Prevention Education online courses
Before coming on campus, you are required to complete the online courses. On Friday, July 21, these courses will be available through the link below:

Understand Student Conduct Policy and your rights
Read the High School Student Handbook to learn more about campus safety, student conduct violations, student rights, outcomes, and alcohol and other drug policy.
Optional Tasks
Take modern language palcement test
Students enrolled in the 2nd or 3rd year of French or Spanish are required to take a placement test.
The placement test is for information only and will in no way impact your grade in the course. If you have questions, contact Brock Snyder at snyderb@uncsa.edu or 336-770-1320.
Upload a One Card photo
Photos may be uploaded July 11-Aug. 5, 2023, to have your One Card waiting for you upon your arrival. If you don't upload a photo, a photo will be taken during your check-in/orientation process.
Pre-register to get your One Card on your phone
Incoming students can preregister to adopt Mobile Credential, allowing them to carry their One Card on their supported Apple or Android smartphone or Apple Watch. Students who preregister will complete the Mobile Credential process during Orientation/check-in and will receive an ID only One Card that is to be carried with them at all times when on campus. Pre-registration will be open on July 11-Aug. 5.
To pre-register, you must complete the following no later than Aug. 5, 2023:
- Download and install the eAccounts Mobile app to your mobile device and logged in with your UNCSA credentials.
- Upload a photo for your One Card (Note that photo requirements must be met for all submitted photos; you will receive a response back if your photo is rejected and/or needs to be updated; photo upload will be open July 11-Aug. 5)
- Submit your request during the preregistration request period.
Purchase communter student parking decal
Licensed High School commuter students may purchase a commuter parking decal to park in the designated Commuter “C” lots on campus. Residential students are not allowed to park on campus.
Students wanting to park a vehicle on campus must complete a vehicle registration form and pay for a parking decal.
Register to receive emergency alerts
Register to receive UNCSA Alert when logging into their E-Z Arts account. You will be redirected to update your personal contact information or opt out every semester in January and July.

Required Tasks
Pay the enrollment deposit
To reserve your student's space in the fall class, we must receive the Enrollment Deposit as soon as possible. Log in to the Applicant Portal to view the status page to pay.
APPLICANT PORTAL(OPENS IN NEW TAB)
A refund of a deposit will be granted if the request is made in writing and received in the Office of Admissions prior to May 1. No refunds will be issued after this date. If you are admitted after May 1 your payment must be received within 10 business days of receipt of your acceptance letter.
Set up Authorized User
Parents or other individuals will only receive email billing notifications if they are set up as an Authorized User in TouchNet.
Once in the system, a student may add Authorized Users by clicking the link on the right-hand side of the screen and setting their permissions as necessary. Authorized Users have a specific log-in page with direct access to the system(opens in new tab).
Pay Tuition and Fees
Fall semester billing statements will be mailed to your student’s permanent address and posted to our online billing site, TouchNet, on or before Friday, July 7, 2023.

Students who have not paid their bill or enrolled in a payment plan by the bill due date of Aug. 3, 2023 are subject to a hold on their account, a late payment fee or other actions as outlined in UNCSA’s Student Payment Regulation 317.
Student Access to TouchNet.
The easiest way for a student to access TouchNet is by logging in to E-Z Arts(opens in new tab). Once there, click on the “Student” tab, followed by “Student Accounts” and finally “TouchNet.” Students will automatically be signed in to TouchNet via this method.
Payment Plans. Payment plans are available in TouchNet and are offered on a semester-by-semester basis. The earlier you enroll, the more months you have to spread out payments. More information, including the full semester’s schedule and instructions, is available in this UNCSA Campus announcement.
Enroll or Waive Student Blue Health Insurance
Health insurance is required for all students. The University offers Student Blue from Blue Cross Blue Shield of North Carolina.(opens in new tab) If your students will continue to be covered by an individual plan or through a parent's plan, you waive out of the Student Blue plan.
You must enroll into Student Blue or waive out of the insurance at studentbluenc.com(opens in new tab). Take action by Sept. 12, 2023. Student Blue waiver and enrollment requests for Fall 2023 cannot be submitted after the decision deadline.
Set up Parental Proxy access
By setting up parental/guardian proxy access to your minor student's E-Z Arts account allows you to see your students records. Parents/guardians will have their own login credentials. Set up a Passphrase. If you contact UNCSA, you will use the Passphrase to identify you as a proxy of your student.
In E-Z Arts web portal, you can pay bills as well as access your student's records, maintain the contact information such as an email where you as a parent(s)/guardian can be reached.

Submit required Health Services Documents
You are required to submit all Health Services documents using the Student Health Portal by June 1, 2023.
Puchase Art School Materials
While the textbook for your high school academics are provided, you may need to purchase supplies for your students art classes. A list of what you will need is posted on the Incoming Students website section.
Submit end-of-year transcript
The Office of Admissions must have an official sealed, signed or notarized transcript showing all course work and grades. This document should be sent to the Office of Admissions upon completion of your school year.
You may use our Final Transcript Request Form to request your end of year transcript from your current school. Your school may have a different procedure for requesting transcripts, so please check with your school counselor or administrator first.
Ninth and 10th Grade Applicants
UNCSA requires academic records for the past three years, including your current year of study. Applicants currently in the eighth or ninth grade should have their school mail official report cards, in addition to any transcripts, for a total of three years of complete records.
Home-Schooled Applicants
Home-schooled applicants should provide documentation that the home school is recognized by the state of residency, if applicable, and should provide course titles and course descriptions for each year of home schooling, as well as tests used or an assessment to show that the applicant has completed the equivalent of the UNC System minimum course requirements. If the applicant has attended a traditional high school, an official transcript from that school should be submitted.
Optional Tasks
Clear holds on your student's E-Z Arts account
It is recommended that you check for holds in your student's E-Z Arts account up through the first day of Orientation. You can check for holds on your account by logging in to E-Z Arts.
LOG IN TO E-Z ARTS(OPENS IN NEW TAB)
After logging in, click on “Student” then “Student Records” and then “View Holds” to see which departments have placed holds on your account.
Remember that when a department or office has placed a hold on your account, you will need to take action with that particular office right away. Only the department that places a hold can remove it.
Among other restrictions, holds will prevent your student from registering or changing your class schedule. Students who are indebted to UNCSA are not permitted to attend classes until the debt is settled.
Request Academic Accomodations due to disabilities
If applicable, review information about Classroom Accommodations for a diagnosed disability.
The UNCSA High School Academic Program offers:
- Accommodations/modifications that specify adjustments to the learning environment.
- Development of Section 504 Classroom & Instructional Accommodations, or, if necessary, an Individual Education Plan (IEP).
Apply/appeal in-state residency

Apply for Student Financial Aid
Although high school students are not eligible for Federal aid, they can still submit a FAFSA. Answer the enrollment questions on the FAFSA(opens in new tab) as if they will be a first-year college student. Once completed, need can be determined, and they can be considered for UNCSA scholarships based on merit & need or need alone. Monitor the artist email account for communication and guidance from Financial Aid to view the E-Z ARTS online portal.
Register to receive emergency alerts
Register for UNCSA ALERT to receive emergency notifications by email, phone and text message. The cost is free, however, standard text messaging fees will apply from your carrier. Students can sign up for UNCSA ALERT with your E-Z Arts ID number and UNCSA email or phone number. You can add up to 10 phone numbers and four email addresses, to include parents and relatives. Parents and relatives of students can only add their contact information after their student has created an account.
