The UNCSA Symphony Orchestra closes a dynamic season through a powerful program that traces Ludwig van Beethoven’s lasting influence across generations of composers and honors the 200th anniversary of his death.

The evening opens with Richard Wagner’s Prelude to Act III of “Lohengrin,” a brilliant surge of energy and grandeur shaped by Beethoven’s musical vision. At the heart of the program is Beethoven’s “Choral Fantasy” — a bold work for piano, chorus and orchestra. The concert concludes with Robert Schumann’s Symphony No. 3, the “Rhenish,” which is a vibrant and expressive work that reflects Beethoven’s enduring impact on Romantic music.
