Marius Diaz

Marius Diaz, from Youngsville, North Carolina. He started his dance training at age four with Union County Dance Centre in New Jersey where he learned tap, hip hop and vocal training and discovered his love for musical theater. He evolved his ballet training at the Raleigh School of Ballet at age 11 until he graduated high school.

There he has performed in many of their repertory concerts set by Megan Marvel and Hong Yang such as "Fairy Doll," "Graduation Ball" and "Alice in Wonderland." He also worked with Carolina Ballet and performed in their "Nutcracker" and "Macbeth" during that time.

He joined the University of North Carolina School of the Arts in fall 2022 to strengthen his contemporary techniques, where he has trained in Cunningham, Limon, Alexander technique, Horton, ballet and West-African. There he has performed in dances staged by Andrea Weber, Wesley Williams, and Charmaine Hunter.

He has been taking classes for the past four years directly under Brenda Daniels, Abigail Yager, Ming-Lung Yang, Wesley WIlliams, Emily Nicolou, Jared Redick, Laura Martin, Ilya Kozadayev and Fernando Carrillo. He has also taken part in summer intensives with Carolina Ballet, Dance Theatre of Harlem and Steps on Broadway. He looks forward to future endeavors with musical theatre, concert dance and dance on film.
