'Johnny Loves Johann' complimentary tickets
Complimentary tickets are now available for "Johnny Loves Johann" (May 1–3), performed in the Agnes de Mille Theatre.
Led by Grammy Award–winning violinist and 2024 MacArthur Fellow Johnny Gandelsman, "Johnny Loves Johann" brings together Gandelsman’s live, folk-inspired interpretation of Johann Sebastian Bach’s complete Cello Suites — performed on violin — with original choreography and performances by John Heginbotham, Caili Quan, Jamar Roberts and Melissa Toogood.
The Saturday performance will be followed by a curtain chat with the creative team,
offering additional insight into the work.
Co-commissioned by the Kenan Institute for the Arts and Carolina Performing Arts, the work reflects a multi-year creative development
process, including a December 2025 residency at UNCSA that engaged students from the Schools of Dance and Music.
UNCSA students may request one ticket, and faculty and staff may request up to two
tickets for a single performance; all tickets are for personal use and are nontransferable.
To redeem, log in to the Patron Portal.
