Preparatory Levels 1A and 1B

Preparatory Levels 1A and 1B

Ages 8-10

Level 1A and 1B ballet curriculum focuses on posture, coordination, and musicality. Students will begin to control the rotation in their legs, articulate through their feet, and feel the alignment of the spine.

Students are introduced to Barre Work at this level to aid them in building their form. Classes include strengthening, stretching, and improvisation to continue the student’s practice of Creative Dance.

Students in Level 1B begin to develop further use of 5th position and less aid from the barre by beginning to transition to one hand at the barre. Additional awareness of turnout and alignment is necessary to facilitate the advancement in the Level 1 curriculum.
