Orchestral Strings Fellowship
UNCSA and the Winston-Salem Symphony Orchestra are accepting applications for the 2024-26 class of fellows for the UNCSA/Winston-Salem Symphony Strings Fellowship — a prestigious new two-year, graduate-level Orchestral Fellowship program beginning in Fall 2024.
The Fellowship program will accept five outstanding string players who will receive full scholarships and stipends while enrolled in a two-year Master of Music (M.M.) program at UNCSA. Fellows will receive real-world training in arts administration and leadership under the mentorship of Winston-Salem Symphony Music Director Michelle Merrill(opens in new tab)(opens in new tab), symphony musicians, and executives. They will also engage with the local community as part of the Symphony’s P.L.A.Y. (Piedmont Learning Academy for Youth) Music program(opens in new tab)(opens in new tab) for under-served youth.
Each fellow will receive scholarship support for two years equaling the cost of full tuition and fees, as well as a $5,000 per year graduate stipend.
Fellowships are available for outstanding violinists, violists, cellists, and double bass players from the U.S. and abroad with a dedicated passion for community engagement. The application deadline is Jan. 18, 2024.
