Julia Shoffner is from Raleigh, North Carolina, and grew up dancing at The Academy for the Performing Arts where she became proficient in many styles. In the spring of 2022, she will complete a B.F.A. in contemporary dance and a minor in arts entrepreneurship from UNCSA. She is an alumni of Jacob’s Pillow (2021) and UNCSA Professional Studies Program (2019) with Peter Chu and Sidra Bell.

Julia is a certified Classic Pilates Mat Instructor, a scholarship recipient, an environmentalist and a passionate performer and choreographer. Performance highlights from her time at UNCSA include works by Yoshito Sakuraba, Robert Battle, José Limón, Trisha Brown, Ming-Lung Yang, and Kira Blazek-Ziaii. She has choreographed student works at UNCSA and created a variety of pieces for studios in the Raleigh area. Her goal upon graduation is to perform in a company where she can continue to hone her skills and artistry while contributing to the advancement of dance throughout the world.
