High School Drama Admissions

The Drama program in the UNCSA High School is a one-year intensive course of study for Grade 12 students who demonstrate artistic potential, academic readiness and social maturity.

2026-27 Application Deadline

The 2026-27 application for the High School Drama program remains open and continues to review candidates, with an extended deadline of February 9, 2026. Interested students are strongly advised to submit their application as soon as possible. 

To meet the deadline:

  • application fee paid
  • transcript(s) uploaded for review

All required application documents must be uploaded no less than two weeks prior to a scheduled audition.

Candidates who meet a deadline will have a 10-minute audition for faculty on the UNCSA campus. Audition slots are limited on a given day.

Information Session / Group Warm-up

On the day of the audition, applicants attend a required faculty-hosted information session about the UNCSA High School and the Acting program. This is followed by a group warm-up. Audition times are assigned at the conclusion of this. 

Scheduling

Applicants are scheduled on a first come, first serve basis. Scheduling begins in November. 

Admissions decisions are based on a combination of artistic and academic merits. Decisions are released after all candidates have been reviewed.

Academic Criteria

GPA & Academic Requirements

Applicants should have a minimum unweighted GPA of 2.3 (C+), no more than one failing grade in the previous year's work and no more than two failing grades in their overall coursework.

Completed Application, Fees & Required Documents

  1. Complete the online application.
  2. Pay your Application Fee: $95 for U.S. citizens and permanent residents, $130 for international applicants. Application fees are non-refundable.

    Payment Options
    • Online: Follow payment instructions at the end of the application.
    • Check or Money Order (through a U.S. bank): Make payable to "UNCSA" and include your full legal name. Mail your payment and fully legible name of the applicant to the Office of Admissions.
    • International Applicants: Use Flywire to pay your application fee online through an international bank or pay by check or money order through a U.S. bank as listed above.
  3. Upload all Required Application Documents by the application document deadline associated with your audition date.

Please note: If applying to two different UNCSA art schools (Dance, Drama, Music, and Visual Arts), a second completed application and second application fee will be required.
