Hold the Date: Celebration of Excellence on May 1
Please plan to attend the annual Celebration of Excellence on Wednesday, May 1, at
Daniels Plaza from 12:15-2 p.m.
Students, faculty and staff are encouraged to come out early, if possible, to participate
and enjoy the festivities. Refreshments will be available throughout the event.
Event Schedule
The celebration starts at 12:15 p.m. with a drum circle led by John R. Beck, coordinator for arts and health partnerships in the School of Music.
The drum circle will be followed from 12:45-1:15 p.m. by selections from the UNCSA
Jazz Ensemble, led by Jazz and Contemporary Department Chair Steve Alford.
At 1:15 p.m., the Awards Ceremony will begin, with Chancellor Brian Cole and Provost Patrick J. Sims serving as emcees.
In case of rain, the celebration will be held in Eisenberg Social Hall in the Hanes Student Commons.
Remember to come early to participate in the drum circle, enjoy the jazz music and
see your friends and colleagues receive recognition! Maybe you will, too!
