Arts Posse Scholars

Six inaugural Arts Posse Scholars were selected at UNCSA, including School of Music
student Ella McGovern.
Grammy nomination

Joanna Gates is nominated for a Grammy Award as a member of the critically acclaimed choir The
Crossing.
Rosen-Schaffel Competition
The Rosen-Schaffel Competition for Young and Emerging Artists, established in July 2011, is a program of An Appalachian Summer Festival, Appalachian
State University’s annual summer festival of the performing and visual arts. UNCSA
School of Music students compete and often place in this competition. Past UNCSA prize-winners
include:
