How to Watch "The Nutcracker" Premiere
We are thrilled that you are joining us for the world premiere of the 2020 "Nutcracker" during the Opening Night Scholarship Benefit on December 12. Explore the FAQ below, and get ready to enjoy the show!
How do I access the virtual event experience?
"The Nutcracker" Opening Night Scholarship Benefit is a private event and will require "activating" your registration by following the instructions below. Once you have activated your account, click on the Performance icon to watch “The Nutcracker” premiere. The premiere begins at 7:30 p.m. We recommend logging in at 7:15 p.m. so you are ready for the performance at 7:30 p.m.
Access from a computer
Click this link to access the event website from a computer. Enter the email address you purchased
with and create a password. Once you have created your password, you will have access
to all of the event's unique features. Bookmark this link and save this email to make
access easy on opening night.
Access from a tablet or smartphone
Click this link from your device to download the mobile app, or download the mobile app from the
Apple App Store or Google Play Store by searching "UNCSA Powering Creativity." When
you launch the app, enter the email you used to purchase, create a password and fill
out a profile. Once you have completed these steps, you will have access to the mobile
event page which contains all the same features as the web app.
Use both!
The website and mobile app can also be used at the same time — a great way to simultaneously
watch the film and enjoy the event's social features. Exciting features will be available
in the app throughout the week.

Tell me more about the mobile app.
The mobile app is now live! It is called UNCSA Powering Creativity. The mobile app has all the same content you’ll find by following the web link. You can also view the mobile app at the same time you are viewing from the web link.
Can I view the event from my TV?
Yes, if accessing the event from a laptop, attendees can easily connect to their computer to their TV using an HDMI cord. All you need are your computer, your TV, and an HDMI cord. For guidance doing this, please view the following video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s532CgZNrMg
If attendees are using a Mac device and have an Apple TV or AirPlay2 compatible TV,
the event can be streamed using Apple AirPlay. For guidance doing this, please view

If attendees are using the Chrome web browser and have a “Chromecast” compatible TV, they can cast the event from Chrome. On your computer, open Chrome and follow the directions below:
- At the top right, click the three vertical dots, then Cast.
- Choose the Chromecast device where you want to watch the content.
- If you're already using the Chromecast, your content will replace what's on your TV.
- When you're done, to the right of the address bar, click Cast --> Stop casting.
Do I need to download anything special?
All you need to participate in the virtual event experience is internet access. No other streaming devices or services are required. The link you receive allows you to connect from your desktop, laptop, tablet or phone.
You have the option to download the mobile app, and you may be active on the mobile app while simultaneously logged onto the website.
Will my internet speed affect the video quality?
Yes, if you have low internet speed or bandwidth, the video quality may be affected.
How much are tickets?
$150 for the “Land of the Sweets” VIP Experience Package - per household - SOLD OUT
- Tax-deductible donation to scholarships: $110
- Unlimited on-demand viewing of “The Nutcracker” performance, beginning December 12 (Opening Night)
- A Nutcracker Experience Package, including Nutcracker coloring sheets, holiday treats, plus a mystery Nutcracker themed gift (subject to availability if purchased after November 20, 2020)
- Full access to “The Nutcracker” experience, including exclusive content beginning December 7
$60 for the All-Access Pass - per household
- Tax-deductible donation to scholarships: $60
- Unlimited on-demand viewing of “The Nutcracker” performance, beginning December 12 (Opening Night)

How long is the film?
The film itself is 30-minutes, but the event will be approximately 1 hour, 7:30-8:30 p.m.
