Dance Costume Shop

Dance Costume Shop

The UNCSA Dance Costume Shop is the professional costume shop of the School of Dance. Providing our students and our audience members the opportunity to experience the splendor of exemplary dance costumes is our passion.

How to paint your ballet shoes

UNCSA School of Dance dress code now includes the option to wear flesh-colored tights and shoes. Many suppliers carry a variety of tight colors, but coordinating shoes can be harder to find. Director of Dance Costumes Marissa McCullough has created a tutorial to teach dancers how to paint their own ballet shoes, pointe shoes and slippers.

Costume stock and rentals

Our costume stock includes the re-constructions of classic pieces from Balanchine to Cunningham which are often requested for rental by pre-professional dance schools and professional companies around the country. A selection of costume rental packages is available. Please submit an email inquiry to Marissa McCullough to receive further information.

UNCSA’s dress code supplier is Prima Soft. For a local dancewear provider, visit Carolina Dancewear. Discounts are available at both to UNCSA students.
