Learning and Development

Human Resources Learning & Development builds the knowledge, skills, and abilities of UNCSA’s workforce by helping them develop and achieve their potential so that the organizations they work for can succeed and grow. Learning & Development fosters a learning culture where faculty and staff are engaged in continual learning.  We facilitate this learning by delivering talent developmental strategies and services focused on motivating, engaging, and educating a committed and high-performance workforce.  These initiatives foster a quality workplace with goals of attracting, developing, and retaining exemplary faculty and staff inspired by a sense of mission, meaning, and purpose.

This is your one-stop-shop for learning and professional development for staff and faculty employees.

The Basics of Designing Accessible Online Course Content*
March 26, 2020

The office of Learning Resources offers a workshop on "The Basics of Designing Accessible Online Course Content". This workshop covers faculty generated content (Word, PDF files, images, audio, and videos) often used in the creation of an online course. Faculty are a vital link in the process of designing accessible instructional materials and accommodating students in the classroom. Teaching faculty must ensure that the design of their instructional course and materials are accessible. Information in the workshop is pertinent to courses that are taught face-to-face, hybrid courses that integrate electronic resources or platforms, and full online courses. Much of the material is also pertinent to faculty who teach hybrid courses or use Canvas as an instructional platform for their face-to-face courses.
