Instructions for Temporary Employees Time Entry

Time Entry instructions here are presented as a courtesy by the Payroll department, but time and leave entry are processes managed by Human Resources. All questions should be directed to their office.

Temporary employees, both students and non-students, are required to enter their time worked using E-Z Arts web portal in order to be paid. Employee's time must be submitted by the deadline.

E-Z Arts Login

  1. Log into E-Z Arts using your campus email address and password. If you are having trouble, contact the Help Desk or call 336-770-3300.
  2. Select the Employees tab. The Employee menu will display.
  3. Select Employee Dashboard.
  4. In the the My Activities box on the right-hand side, select Enter Time.  
  5. On the Time sheet page, select the dates associated with the Position Title and Department in which you work to open that time sheet. Employees with more than one temporary job must confirm position number for each assignment with supervisor prior to entering time.

Entering hours for one day

  1. Select the day for which you would like to enter hours.
  2. Select the earn code appropriate for the hours worked and enter the amount of hours per day that you worked in the Hours field.
  3. Enter the amount of hours per day that you worked in the Hours Worked field.
  4. Select Save in the bottom right corner.
  5. Record your time in 15-minute increments. Example: 3-1/2 hours is recorded as 3.5.

Warning: Selecting Restart Time button will erase the time entered for the pay period.

Entering hours for a pay period

  1. Repeat daily entry for each day worked.
  2. Select Save button after entering each day’s hours.

Revising your hours

If you have not submitted your time sheet, you may change your hours.

  1. Select the date that needs to be changed. 
  2. Select the pencil icon next to the hours already entered to edit data.
  3. Enter the correct hours worked per day.
  4. Select Save button.

To erase all the time entered for a pay period, select the Restart Time  button.

Leaving a comment on your time sheet

  1. Select the Comments icon (conversation bubble)  at the top of the time sheet page, next to the date range and hours entered.
  2. In the Comments box, type your message.
  3. Select the Save button.
    Note: Comment on your time sheet are only visible to your in preview mode.

Printing your time sheet

  1. Select Preview button at the bottom right  of your time sheet.
  2. Select the Printer icon (paper printer) in the top right.
  3. Select Print.
  4. From the printer setting, select for the paper layout.
  5. Select OK to save your paper layout setting.
  6. Select OK to print your time sheet.

Submitting your time sheet

  1. Select the Preview button at the bottom right of the time entry screen.
  2. Review your hours to ensure the days, number and earning codes are correct. Ensure that you have not changed the shift fields unless instructed otherwise.
  3. Check the box at the bottom left to certify your time sheet.
  4. Select Submit button at the bottom of your time sheet.
    Note: Once you select Submit your time sheet becomes view-only and cannot be altered. If time permits, you can email your supervisor asking that the time sheet be returned for correction and resubmission


Made an error after submitting your time?
A time sheet cannot be changed once it has been submitted. Contact your supervisor if you discover a problem or contact HR at 336-770-1428.

Missed the time entry deadline?
You will need to submit a Biweekly Late Submission Time Sheet.
Note: Late time sheets received during the current biweekly payroll processing cycle will be processed in the following biweekly payroll cycle.
