UNCSA is hosting the American Guild of Organists' Pipe Organ Encounter this summer, July 19-24, 2020. Pipe Organ Encounter is for teen pianists and organists ages 13-18 with proficiency of at least an intermediate level.

Students will be offered daily lessons and practice time, as well as group classes on topics such as organ literature, history, pipe organ construction, improvisation and other related topics. Among many other exciting events, daily recitals by faculty will be presented, and the group will visit Reynolda House and its Aeolian house organ.

Students will use organs dating from 1800 through the past few decades and will have an opportunity to participate in various worship settings experiencing the role of a musician in sacred music.

And, most importantly, students will meet and interact with peers who love organ and its rich musical history.

Fees, scholarship information and registration are available on the American Guild of Organist's website.
