June 14 - 25, 2021
UNCSA Piano Summer intensive is designed for pianists who wish to improve various aspects of their piano playing. Students can register for one or two weeks. Weekly schedule includes two one-hour lessons, 90-minute master class and one-hour seminar on piano repertoire. Students will have the option of studying with a teacher of their choice or taking alternating lessons from Professors Dmitri Vorobiev and Dmitri Shteinberg.
The goal of this course is to strategically improve those aspects of piano playing that the student and UNCSA faculty feel could most benefit from additional training. Particular attention will be towards the sound production, technique, and convincing interpretation. Students will also have a better idea about where they are in their playing and the future direction their training should take.
UNCSA's performance facilities feature a magnificent collection of Steinway pianos housed in three venues: four Steinway Model D concert grand pianos (three Hamburg and one New York) and a fifth Steinway Model B. There is a separate dedicated practice area for pianists, which features 14 comfortable soundproof rooms with regularly maintained grand pianos. The school also owns three French Double Manual harpsichords, a concert organ and three practice organs.
