Weather Notice: UNCSA will return to Condition 2 at 10 p.m. Friday, Jan. 30
UNCSA will return to Condition 2 – Suspended Operations at 10 p.m. tonight, Friday, Jan. 30, in preparation for forecasted snow this coming weekend, and will remain in Condition 2 until further notice.
Residential students who are still on campus will have access only to residential spaces and Hanes Student Commons after 10 p.m. tonight. UNCSA Police & Public Safety will be walking the campus to ensure that all nonresidential students, as well as staff and faculty, are safely off campus by this time.
During Condition 2, all classes, activities and performances on or off campus are canceled until further notice. One Card access will be disabled for nonresidential students as well as all nonmandatory faculty and staff (you will not be able to enter any campus buildings). Nonresidential students and nonmandatory faculty and staff should not enter campus for any reason to allow our facilities workers to clear roads and walkways efficiently. If you have questions about activities scheduled for your arts school or department, please contact your dean or supervisor.
Updates on the status of operations will be provided by 6 p.m. tomorrow, Saturday, Jan. 31, based on campus conditions and area road conditions. Please watch for campus communications via UNCSA Alert, a red bar that will appear on the UNCSA home page, on the university’s Facebook and X platforms, and on local TV outlets. The operating status of campus is always available on our status page.

Weather Notice: Condition 1 Reduced Operations 1/30/2026
UNCSA will temporarily move to Condition 1 – Reduced Operations at 10 a.m. Friday, Jan. 30. The University will return to Condition 2 – Suspended Operations at 10 p.m. Friday in preparation for forecasted snow this coming weekend, and will remain in Condition 2 until further notice.
UNCSA is moving to Condition 1 to allow students, faculty and staff the opportunity to access campus and campus buildings as needed and to secure additional supplies for the weekend. Classes are not being held on Friday due to the previously scheduled Collaborative Day. Friday may be used as an optional make-up day for rehearsals; however, no one is required to attend rehearsals scheduled by the arts schools. Non-mandatory employees have the option not to report to work and, with supervisor approval, work from home or an alternate site.
High School students who are signed out are not permitted to return to campus. Any High School students currently on campus who wish to leave should do so during this Condition 1, before the next storm arrives.
While the campus has been mostly cleared of ice and snow, there are remaining icy spots, and the surrounding neighborhood streets remain icy and hazardous. Please use caution if you choose to return to campus during Condition 1.
Under Condition 1, normally assigned access remains active for all One Card holders. All doors will be accessible with your One Card credential including shared spaces such as the Library and Hanes Student Commons, and practice rooms, which will remain open as usual. If you have questions about activities scheduled for your arts school or department, please contact your dean or supervisor.
Remember that campus will return to Condition 2 at 10 p.m. Friday until further notice. During Condition 2, One Card access will again be disabled for nonresidential students as well as all nonmandatory faculty and staff (you will not be able to enter any campus buildings). Updates on the status of operations will be provided no later than 6 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 31, based on campus conditions and area road conditions.
