Message Notification Types
During adverse weather and/or emergency closures, suspension of non-mandatory operations for instances which are not truly emergency but reflect conditions on campus that compromise safety are explained below.
Message Types:
Emergency Notifications |
A message sent reference an incident or condition that requires immediate attention as required by the Clery Act. |
| Timely Warnings | A message sent about crimes that have already occurred but represent an ongoing threat and will aid in the prevention of similar crimes as required by the Clery Act. |
| Safety Advisory | A message sent out to inform the UNCSA community of general safety information. |
| Weather Notice |
A message informing of threatening weather conditions. |
| Test |
The system integrity is being tested. UNCSA ALERT tests are conducted on the first Wednesday of each month at 10 a.m. Monthly tests include text message, email, social media pages and indoor/outdoor emergency speakers. Desktop notification testing will be conducted on the last Friday of October, January, and April at 12:00 PM. |
