Summer Dance Professional Studies

Summer Dance Professional Studies

UNCSA has redesigned Dance Professional Studies to make the most of the online learning experience. Our online Summer Dance Professional Studies program offers a one-week intensive with six of today’s leading dance makers. Each day offers dancers the opportunity to dive into the creative process of one renowned choreographer or dance artist.

The workshop is made up of one week of daily classes and consists of a morning physical warm up, exploration of creative process, creation of new material and/or learning repertory. The workshops are open to university dance majors, advanced pre-professional and professional dancers. Participants must be 16 or older. Former and current UNCSA Dance students do not need to audition.

With music and instruction by Mario Spinetti (musician, educator, recording artist, Mikhail Baryshnikov Fellow), dancers will learn how to dissect and decode the meanings in sound.
